Rediscover analogue photography

Today I want to talk about analogue photography!

A few days ago, while I was rearranging my room, I found an old analogue camera.

It is a Yashica J-Mini, a camera with fixed focus, of the “point and shoot” type, equipped with a 32 mm Yashica lens.

So I said to myself “Why not experiment with analogue photography?” Because photography is also this … experimentation.

After having documented myself on the internet, I decided to buy a Fujicolor C200 film roll that you can find here.

From that moment I took the small camera with me everywhere and started taking pictures.
The nice thing about “point and shoot” is that you don’t have to think about any settings, but simply find a nice subject and shoot.

You have only one chance and you will discover the result of the shot only once the rolls have been developed. I think this is the best thing about analogue photography … unpredictability.

The excitement I felt in opening the envelope with photos to see what I had managed to accomplish is priceless. Something that digital photography is not able to give.

Of course sometimes you can be disappointed with the result, but it’s worth it. Discovering shots that you forgot you had made or others that you never thought would come out so well is wonderful!

If you also have an old machine of this type at home, I suggest you to buy a roll of film and try to use it.

I assure you that you will be satisfied.

If you can’t find a camera of this type in your home, on Amazon you can find disposable cameras already equipped with a roll and ready to be used!

Many people use them on special occasions such as birthdays or parties, distributing one to each participant.
I find it a very nice idea!

For the development I went to a photo shop in my city. Surely you will find someone who still does this service.

The photos that you find in the article are some of the shots I made.

Let me know in the comments if you have already tried analogue photography or if you will try after reading this article!

See you soon with the next article!
